I have TV activity of some sort again. I signed up for one of those DTV coupons which came in the mail early last week, then I subsequently ordered a digital converter box from Amazon, which arrived on my doorstep on Saturday. I got it hooked up Saturday, but couldn't get any channels. I took a trip over to Best Buy and bought an antenna. Hooked it up, set it to find stations, and BLAMMO, there was stuff going on my TV again. I have 17 channels of varying levels of entertainment value (excluding the "worship" channels and the channels in Spanish, neither language I speak). There are two weather channels, which have limited amusement value, other than to look for discrepancies and figure out which one was closer to being correct. I will miss seeing Alton Brown, Adam Richman, and Anthony Bourdain on my TV, but it will suffice (watching on my tiny laptop doesn't really cut it).
