How I've been spending my time lately.

My holiday weekend was pretty good, pretty quiet. Friday night, I had dinner with an old friend-of-friend from PA that now lives in Mesa at Green (the vegetarian place near my house, she's vegan). She found me on Facebook through one of our mutual friends. It was kinda fun to rehash some old times. She’s been back more recently and had some additional news on some old friends to share. Saturday morning, I met my dad and brother for breakfast at Chompie’s, which was special because Ellie wasn’t there. The first time in like, 3 years that has happened, but wasn't that groundbreaking in actual emotional connection content. Then I did some Torrid shopping (they had their periodic 50% off clearance), then to Sanrio (they had an ultra-rare 30% sale), where I bought some Hello Kitty Crocs-like flower-print purple ballet flats. [info]wynar_s came over later for pizza and movies and so I could help her learn to crochet so she could contribute to the collaborative quilt for Kat's pending baby. We watched a double-feature of "Escape from New York" and "Big Trouble in Little China". Sunday and Monday, I stayed home and knitted, finishing gifts for Kat’s pending baby. I finished the lobster toy, and created a pattern for and knit a coordinating baby lobster bib.

Last weekend was more exciting, with Sarah’s going away party, DnD at [info]razz’s all day and evening Saturday, and crafternoon a [info]happinesstogo's all day and evening on Sunday. There was a lot of tasty food to be had that weekend. Tuesday night, I went to the Flight of the Conchords concert with [info]happinesstogo’s friend [info]thaitea (who was at crafternoon). We had 12th row seats, which was awesome! The were “handicap accessible”, so they were held for sale for those with special needs and released day of show since they hadn’t sold. I <3 those Kiwis!
